Self Assessment I

--I'm proud that I was able to write something that was personal and (hopefully) also relatable to the reader and to a bigger concept. I've always felt very uncomfortable writing about myself, so I'm glad that this project pushed me to fight through that discomfort and open up more.

--Looking back, I would like to try and craft an opening that is a little less like a traditional essay. Maybe I could incorporate an image or video -- just something that is more creative and in the vein of the sports articles and blogs that I enjoy reading.

--This essay definitely helped me learn what it takes to thoroughly revise an essay. The prolonged process and multiple deadlines forced me to continuously look for ways to improve. I've never spent so much time on an essay before -- in the past I would usually just write two drafts in the span of a couple of days.This process definitely resembled a more professional writing process, and I plan on adhering to it in all my classes from now on.
